  • No,The "I" in SIDS is for infant
Sorry to hear of your child's passing
There are many reasons for children to pass with no overt explanation

  • Hunny, we are not going to be able to do anything but offer you our heartfelt sympathies. I sincerely hope you are able to find the answers that you need.

Although, sometimes, knowing the cause doesn't change the WHY WHY WHY WHY that your heart and soul keep screaming.

  • Im sorry for your loss. A 4 year old child can certainly die unexpectedly but since SIDS is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome it would be SIDS because he's not an infant. I do believe there is a term for the same happening to older children but 4 is still pretty old for even that. Again Im so sorry for your loss.

  • I don't think it would be called SIDS, but there is probably a term for it. I agree that you should wait till the autopsy is done. I'm very sorry for your loss.

  • I'm so sorry. There could be several causes, there needs to be an autopsy.
