Can you remove Windows CE 6 and put in a different Windows version?

Like XP or Windows Vista or Windows 8.

  • Yes. However, XP isn't typically for sale anymore. These are the steps

    1. Go to store
    2. Cry at how much the new version of Windows costs
    3. Buy and take home
    4. Put disc in and run setup
    5. Wait hours

    Ta Da

    At the install, it will remove your old version (saving things to a file called, appropriately, windowsold) and you'll be set

  • I haven't bought the computer yet because I had no experience with Windows CE 6. It is a cheap China one for my niece to play Minecraft on. I know how to install new OS just didn't know if it could be done with that version made for OEM.

  • Ohhhh so it's a pocket PC sort of? In that case.....probably not. Is it because you can't get Flash to work? I "think" (though I could be wrong) that there's a workaround for that.
