  • Logically, I'd say no. But the way things are anymore, probably.

  • and illegal immigrant can't be legally employed, so no. No employment = no unemployment benefits

HOWEVER, if they were working illegally under a stolen identification, then technically yes - though that will get them caught and in major trouble (and probably deported immediately).

  • I'm sure plenty of them collect fraudulently. If an illegal immigrant is so uninspired by our immigration laws, what would they find inspiring about our unemployment laws? Laws don't seem to be something they worry about.

  • Has his employer been taking taxes out of his checks?
Does he have a SS number?

  • "Yes, illegal/unauthorized/undocumented32 immigrants generally pay taxes the same way you and I pay them, but usually without access to the benefits that come with being a taxpayer."

  • No. They're only entitled to humane treatment as illegals but not to the benefits of our government.
