Question re what to wear to an interview?

Hi all, I am a regular on here but am going anon so my current employer doesn't catch wind of this interview. I work in the legal industry and wear professional attire every day. I prefer skirts and tops or a skirt suit. I am interviewing for a job as an administrator at a university. Should I wear one of my usual skirt suits or should I wear slacks with a collared, button up shirt? The hubs says I should wear pants.

  • You should always dress at least one level above what you think the role would entail. I vote for the skirt suit.

  • For a job as a administrator at the university level, I'd wear a skirt suit, nylons and nice shoes. Make sure the skirt suit has a matching blazer top, with a nice blouse that looks professional. I've worked at the college level, and while profs can dress down a little, admin usually dresses up, and for an interview I'd want to look as professional as possible. JMO

  • One of your skirt suits is appropriate, especially because you are already comfortable in them and you need to be in your comfort zone. GL!!

  • Either one will make you look professional, but I would go with the skirt suit...

  • I would go with tailored pants, white collared shirt, pumps and a blazer. Very minimal jewlery, no dangly earrings, fresh makeup, no caked on too dark eyeshadow. Hair in a bun or half updo. Good Luck!
