Is this a bit odd?

Someone I know has a son names Shawn Michael. She recently ha a second son and his name is Michael Shawn. Have you ever heard of anyone doing that? Like reversing their kids name for their next kid or using the kids middle name as your second child's first name. Not judging her or anything they are ok names just never heard of anyone doing that.

  • People do weird things with names for their kids. I know someone that has a son names Mikaih and a daughter Mikaihla. Pronounced... Mic eye and mic eye lah.

Weird. They just really like the names Micheal and Shawn.

  • I am not exempt from doing something weird with names. My boys all have the same middle name as my husband. I guess I am weird too!

  • I've known sisters who all had the same middle names, but nobody with reversed names like that. Whatever floats their boat, I guess.

  • Why not? Anything goes with names these days.... but, I did know a set of twins that had the same middle names. Also a family that use Mary for all the girls with different middle names....

  • It's not the strangest thing I suppose. I just had never heard of someone doing that is all. It might just get confusing if she yells out for both kids Michael and Shawn. Or Shawn and Michael. They might get confused and think she is yelling their full name. But they are at least nice enough names and easy to spell. My name is Kimberly Autumn if my mom had brought home autumn Kimberly I might have been upset at least as a child lol

  • I just felt like it lacked creativity and made their name less unique to them. Like the second child was not worth coming up with something different... but I am really funny about stuff like that.

  • I wanted my kids names to have something in common but still be unique to them so I gave them all names that had four letters

    Anna
    Lucy
    Kate
    Jane
