Are your kids & SO's scrambling & meeting in secret in preparation for the big day tomorrow? :p

My dau has been working on my gift for a while. I think she is writing my biography & having her daddy help her make a mixed CD of my fav. songs. I've been "interviewed" several times in the last few days! It's so cute. Can't wait to see the finished product. :)
So what about you? You noticing a buzz of activity at your house- or did the kiddos get them all done in school? :p

  • Yesterday I attended a mother's day brunch sponsored by DD's preschool. We had brunch, watched an excellent magician, I was presented with a lovely tote bag decorated by DD, and we had a mother/daughter portrait taken! Very fun. The funniest part? DD kept saying, why is this called a grunch mommy? LOL

  • No. I don't want anything. Well, I should clarify. I don't want anything material. I would like both kids to clean their rooms. That's all I want.

  • Nope, DS is really too young yet to do anything on his own and I am a single mom. I don't worry about it though. I know he made me something at school, so that is cool. I am just glad I get to spend Mother's Day with him and my Mom.

  • Awe Tess, that's so cute!
My oldest son has his father in a tizzy over something and I'm not sure how to react!
They've never celebrated Mothers Day for me, (boys), so I'm not sure what's young on, lol

  • We don't typically do presents for Mother's Day and Father's Day, outside of stuff DS makes on his own. He wrote me a poem and he's making dinner for me tomorrow. He's also going to take his first stab at making a cake today. (he picked it out, super double triple chocolate something or other - think he's trying to kill me)

  • No. My DH and I are working all weekend. My kids are entertaining themselves.

  • Not that I can tell. My daughter made me two things at school. One she gave me yesterday because she couldn't wait any longer; it's a pink painted handprint on a piece of cardboard, framed by Popsicle sticks and decorated with stickers. Incidentally, it's the same craft she did last year for Mother's Day, so we can see how much her little hand has grown in a year. Her dad made her put the oter gift away till tomorrow, but she couldn't contain herself, so she told me it's a necklace. Anything she makes for me is special, and I love that she's so excited to give me something. Her dad has never really done anything for Mother's Day--he sends a card to his mom, but he says I'm not his mother, so he doesn't particularly go out of his way for me.

^^Sorry if that bugs you anon, but I've been here for 3 yrs & that's just how I write it. DD & DS just doesn't come naturally for me. Sometimes they're not always acting so "dear", KWIM? :p
