Does anyone eat eggs from a box or egg whites from a box?

Are there any brands that taste good? I know, odd question.

  • I use what I call "pour an egg" when making something where I need a lot of eggs like French toast or quiche, especially when our chickens are going through a low in production. I wouldn't just pour some for scrambled eggs though. I buy some organic brand from whole foods.

  • Well aren't you clever anon. I'd hide my face if I made that statement too.

  • Some of the liquid egg substitutes like Egg Beaters that you find in the refrigerated supermarket cases aren't that bad. Or do you mean the dry powdered eggs? *Shudder.* I've eaten those a few times but never enjoyed them, except that when you're hungry enough, anything tastes all right.

  • Please excuse my ignorance but ... why would anyone want to? (I have never seen anything other than fresh eggs, hence the question)

  • I used the egg whites from Crystal Farms. Tasted like a regular egg white that I separated myself/

  • Most restaurants use eggs in a box but I'm not sure of the brand.

  • I buy egg whites in a carton. Egg Beaters usually or the store brand if I'm being cheap. They taste fine.

  • The egg white boxes taste the same to me. I use all kinds of brands. I usually add spices to it anyway. There are egg substitutes but there are also 100% real egg whites.
