Funny story (spin off about collection calls)

years and years ago, i got ONE collection call from a cable/satellite company
it was for 2 cents... (not a typo)

i was laughing so hard, had to have hear repeat it a few times, i could not believe what i was hearing

i kept the operator phone person on for a good long time, saying that i was going to use that 2 cents up very quickly with the long distance call they made to me. told her that the company should sue me and take me to court (she was very embarrassed for having to make the call- just her job) both of us had a nice long conversation about the weather, our children and whatever else came up

after a while she did say she was taking it off my record

2 CENTS!!

  • I had Sprint send me to collections for .50 cents. The debt collector was laughing so hard he feel out of his chair. He explained he wish he could just waive it and that was the first time he has every saw that.

  • We got an attorney letter saying we had an unpaid medical balance, and if we didn't contact them within 30 days, they could file suit at the debtor's discretion. I don't remember the exact amount anymore, but it was in the 80 cents range. I know it was less than a dollar. Based on what we paid the paralegals and legal assistants at work, I'd estimate it cost them about $7.50 to authorize, print and mail that letter, plus postage.

  • LOL! I once got a check from a class action lawsuit for 33 cents! It wasn't even worth the postage!
