How do you get Medicaid if you are single and working?

I am just curious since I know someone who I found out is on Medicaid (no kids) & working. I thought you had to have kids or a disability to get it? She is working & living with her BF???

  • they go by what you make....if she don't make a good paycheck and she falls within their perimeters she may qualify, but considering how few doctors want new medicaid patients, she may have a hard time getting seen anywhere...

  • Is she in the process of applying for disability?
Some people get disability, work and get Medicaid. They have to stay within the income limit.

  • Some states are now offering Medicaid to low income single adults under the affordable care act. But the income limits are very low!
