I have another IEP meeting today...however...

today i am bringing along TWO ABA therapists...!!!

i am bringing a coffee mug (my cafemom one:)
and sitting back as much as possible and letting the autism specialist do some chatting with the school IEP team - thinking hearing about autism from someone other than 'just' the mom will be very enjoyable

so the room will be filled
teacher, special ed teacher , OT, speech, two psychologists (one serving as LEA and other added by school for some reason they will not say- maybe because i am a big pain in the backend when i complained about the field trip and what teacher said), reading specialist, 2 ABA therapists, and little old me
that's TEN! wow that is a lot

should i stop at dunking doughnuts and pick up a dozen and a half
meeting at 8:15am, never brought treats to an IEP meeting before

  • How'd it go? I asked you over in crazy psycho bitch's question, but it got buried under all the pictures.

  • Yeah, that might be a nice gesture.

  • Make sure the teacher and unhelpful school staff get doughnuts that taste like a big plate of crow.

It will be nice for you to feel validated in your concerns and have professionals backing your concerns. Enjoy!

  • Since our IEPs tend to take a couple hours, I usually bring snacks! My sons teacher has gotten to where she always has at least one person from the county there to deal with my ex in addition to her, the lea and speech therapist

  • That would be up to you. Have fun. I got an ARD meeting today too, but it will be after school has ended.

always one hour, never a minute more
not enough time on many occasions

have to skip doughnut run- forgot i have an art for youth meeting (8:05) that i will miss but have to at least pop into before IEP- there goes my extra 10 minutes between drop off and IEP

but very excited to have two head therapists of daughters new ABA team coming to the meeting
