If you have three or more children, what is your family vehicle?

I have a Chrysler Town and Country with a ton of miles on it. We're car shopping now and I'd like to get away from a mini van. We were thinking an GMC Acadia.

What kind of car do you drive and would you recommend it to anyone?

  • Dodge Durango is good because it has the 3rd row seating. I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee but I'm thinking of trading it on for something else.

  • I have 5 kids. Our family car is a diesel Ford Excursion. Love it and I gets decent (20 mpg) mileage, but they don't make them any more.

  • Explorer... bought it w/ the intention of getting a 3rd row installed, didn't realize how expensive they are... ugh.. needless to say family trips (w/ all 4 kids, me & hubby) are pretty much non-exsistant..... gas milage stinks too...

  • I wanted to go away from a mini van too, but ended up getting a new one. The fact is with three kids and two hockey bags, the crossovers were out and I didn't want to drive a tank with gas at $4/gallon. It has two movie screens, wireless headphones and everybody can sit without touching!
