  • A couple of questions come to mind....

    1) What made you come to Cafemom

    2) What made you think to ask this question on Cafemom

    3) When did you find out you were pregnant... like a few seconds ago, hours, minutes, days?

    4) If the coughing is continuous, when did it start, exactly?

    5) Are you choking? Turning blue?

    6) Have you thought to consult a physician and ask about this issue?

    7) Are you sick?

    8) What makes you think that it is normal for a pregnant woman to cough?

    9) Are you asthmatic?

    10) How old are you?

    11) Is this your first pregnancy?

(sorry, I can't stop thinking of more questions.....)

  • Cont:

    12) Are you around any type of odor that would cause coughing, i.e., carbon monoxide, bleach, gas (just to throw out a couple)

    13) Have you taken any medications?

    14) Is it a dry non-productive cough or are you bringing up any sputum?

    15) IF you are producing sputum, what is the color and consistency of it?

  • Yes, it could be harmful to both you and the baby. Please see a doctor or see urgent care. You may have an allergy to something in your home or to pesticides released into the general area. Take a cough drop, but ask the doctor if you can take any allergy medication. The only one that worked for me when I had nonstop coughing was Walmart's Equate Chlor Tabs. Only about $3.00 but check to see if it's safe to take or ask a pharmacist. Prescription medications didn't work for me at all but this cheap medication did.
