Healthy snacks I can throw in my backpack?

I don't drive, so I'm out and about a lot with my backpack on my back. I have a bad habit of grabbing fast food when I get hungry, so I'd like to think of some healthy snacks that will keep well in my backpack. I've already thought of nuts and raisins. Fresh fruit is our because out would get bruised. Any Suggestions appreciated.

  • A PB sandwich, cereal bars, granola bars, you can freeze gogurt and that will last a few hours from froze to too warm, bags of cereal, banana chips, crackers, rice cakes, carrot or celery sticks, jerky, 'on the go' apple sauce packets, pretzels, apple chips...

  • Dried prunes and apricots are good. Cheese and crackers in those sealed packets. If you have a cooler in your backpack, hard-boiled eggs make filling snacks.
