  • Leland is a boy's name. Lelynn looks like a badly spelled feminized version of it. Sorry, but, yuck.

  • Hmmm, well. I know Leland is a boy's name, but with the Lynn, I'd have to guess Lelynn would be for a girl.

  • When I first read it I thought boy.

  • Sounds like a boys name but looks like a girls name. I don't like it. With that name, the child will likely shorten it anyway or use a nickname so why even use it if it's going to be changed anyway? Perhaps Lilienne or Lyla/Layla?

  • Boy name with a feminine spelling.

  • A boys name with a feminine spelling. I think the names it's self *could* go either way... Of course, my DD is Quinn Cameron. I did not even bother to feminize the spelling...

  • Sounds feminine, but I know a girl named Lendynn, so it seems close to that to me.

  • Thanks for all your answers. A friend of mine just named her son Lelynn.
I think she heard the name LELAND somewhere, and never bothered to check the spelling. She's a few crayons short of a full box.
