My pool water looks green inside the pool but clear in a glass what is wrong?

  • It's algae that settled on the bottom. How big is the pool? Do you have a pool filter? If so then add Chlorine, stir up the algae over & over until the filter filters it out. Or vacuum out the algae with a pool vacuum. Chlorine will kill it but not removed it. You have to filter it out of the water.

  • Alga can also occur due to a PH imbalance. Test the PH. Start with a shock treatment (I'm assuming that you have a pool big enough to swim in), follow the instructions and then set about checking the PH and making sure the water remains sterile.

  • What color is the inside of the pool? It could be light refraction of either the sky or the pool color or both.
