What can it be?

what is it that you give to your child(ren)'s teacher at the end of a school year?
My boy is having tomorrow the end of his 1st preschool year and I think it would be nice to give something to his teacher whom he likes a lot. what is the custom? I am originally from Poland and there we usually give some flowers or chocolate. Is it OK to handle this to him or would you suggest something instead. we're in OH now, just for you to know.

  • That would be a lovely gift, either one.

  • You can give the teacher the same thing you did in Poland.

  • I'm sure the teacher would appreciate either gift very much. My sister teaches kindergarten, and some other things she's been given are gift cards to stores or restaurants, wallets, and small baskets or home ornaments. It's a nice thing to do.

  • Usually a potted plant of flowers or homemade baked pastries (pie, cupcakes, cookies, banana bread, etc.). There's no real rule to gift giving for teachers.

  • Both are good to give and also fruit baskets.
