  • I put a dropper of tea tree oil in every load. It makes the laundry smell fresh, and it's a natural antibacterial and antifungal. My washer always smells like tea tree oil.

  • Where can I find tea tree oil?

  • Anywhere. They sell it in the vitamin isle at Walmart now. Just don't use too much because it's super strong. I use a dropperful, and a tiny bottle lasts forever. I might use two dropperfuls in my husband's work clothes. I suppose you could also run a load with just hot water and tea tree oil. The stuff is amazing. You can use it for everything from a facial toner to sticker remover to an antiseptic when you cut yourself.

  • Thanks, I'm going to have to get me some because my washer has a bad moldy smell.

  • Ooh, I should try that for my running clothes. They get "permastink", and I bet that would help!

  • I just wipe the rubber with a damp cloth every time I use it. A moldy smell is a damp smell so you need to remember to wipe the window and the rubber seal after every day's wash. Get rid of the smell you have by doing a cycle with no clothes only 2-3 cups of bicarb.
Leaving the door slightly ajar might help too.
