  • I'm a stay at home mom

Answer by mommy_jules at 1:06 PM on May. 31, 2013

  • I used to stay at home when mine were little, then I went back to work and now I am a volunteer. It is not paid work but it is satisfying.
We moved several times and when I wasn't working outside the home for pay, I was volunteering as well.
I volunteered for an entire school year to teach arts to children. There were four of us moms that wanted the school to employ a teacher bu they did not see the benefit. I had 8th, 2nd and K. It was work that paved the way for someone else to be hired into that position.

  • I'm home with my daughter and sometimes my stepson; I also work from home as a braille textbook proofreader. It's a juggling act. I work a lot late at night when the house is quiet.
