Direct Sales Party?

How do you feel about having children around? **not the sex toy parties......

What games do you play?

What do you use as a Hostess Gift, if any?

Do you give rewards for more bookings?

What's your average sale amount?

Do you ever host your own party?

Do you host for others?

Do you also do Facebook Parties?

  • Children- I've done a ton of 'play date' wrap parties. I find that it makes people much more comfortable having their kids there and just enjoying themselves.

Games- I don't do games. Don't have time for it.

Gift- Free wrap plus more depending on how many come.

booking- If people book off their party, I give a free wrap for each one that is held. One of my hostesses got about 15 free wraps lol!

Average sale- $25-$150. Average party is typically $600-$1200

I do host my own parties but rarely. Typically an anniversary party.

I do host parties for others

And yes, facebook parties are the easiest to do. I don't know why anyone wouldn't do those. They don't bring in as much but they don't require as much either.

  • I hate them! I have friends who do it and the parties are fun but I always feel obligated to buy at least a small something. Even if they are things I can use, I don't like feeling obligated to buy anything. And I would never do it (even though my friends all tell me I should do adult toy parties), because I wouldn't want anyone else to feel that way.

  • I avoid going to them and would avoid getting into a business where I had to do them, for exactly the reasons Missanc said. I've gone to a few Pampered Chef parties and one for Tastefully Simple. I bought Pampered Chef products I didn't really want and Tastefully Simple foods I did want and knew I could use, but I felt put out and obligated both times.

  •  DUH
Depends on the crowd, bingo, pass the penis... No "booking games".
10% Hostess credit, bonus if the party is over $500
50% off item at every show booked from yours
In the beginning. Not so much anymore. No time.
When I can, but I'll always place an order if I'm invited. I would not DARE waste the consultants time by NOT ordering, and eating and drinking the Hostesses' food.

  • No one should feel obligated to buy. If the consultant is doing a good job then most likely they will see or learn about something they would like to have.

Games are only good for home parties if they add value to the show. Value for the host = more benefits, Value for the consultant = sales or bookings, value for the guest = FUN - If a game can not do ALL 3 then it is a waste of time.

I recommend consultants hold practice shows once or twice a year. A practice show to get ready for the new catalog or season, has no demands on the guest. "come help me practice" - This article talks about it and has a recording:

I only went to 1 home party in my life in 1999 then held over 3000 as the consultant. Of those 3000 maybe 1-2 practice shows per year. Then did have another consultant come into my home and do a show once with another company.

  • Quit your top water trolling and go find the information yourself!

  • I don't do home parties... I hate attending for the same reason because I feel obligated to buy stuff I don't want...

So to Anon.. I was asking a simple question just to see what others felt because in the last week I think I've been invited to like five and my friend asked me a few of those questions..
