Let's talk milk allergy/ intolerance adult content

14 yo and baby had milk issues as infants
14 yo was on nutramigen and baby was on the breast (but I eliminated all dairy)

Ped told me with DD that most kids outgrow the issue by 12 months. She did. Baby was ok by 9 or so months.

We have noticed lately that baby gets stinky gas after ice cream but not normally after cows milk. He has, however, begun having foul poops.
DD has begun noticing that she gets gassy after cows milk, too.

Neither has an issue with cheese, cottage cheese, cream cheese etc.

So, question:
Anyone else with milk issues that can eat one form of dairy but not another?

  • Our chiropractor has a simple adjustment that gets rid of dairy allergies. I don't know where you live, but you might ask around. I had no idea about this until about 2 years ago, but it has sure worked for our family.

  • I can't drink milk what so ever but I am okay with ice cream and cheese. My DD had the same problems as your 14dd

  • If I drink cow's milk, I'm always very sorry--and so is anybody else who is stuck in the same room with me. I can eat yogurt with no problems, and small amounts of ice cream, sour cream, and cheese if I don't overdo it. But straight-up milk is a very bad idea for me.

  • My 5 year old Breastfed till 18 months once we started giving her cows milk she became very very constipated (she would pass out from trying to poop) she would also develop ear aches and upset tummy. She now drinks rice milk but she is fine if she eats cheese yogurt ice cream. it has something to do with the enzymes in the cows milk that their body's cant break down.

  • LoL
Poor DD, she changed one of baby's diapers last night and has been complaining since.
I guess she had never smelled anything like that before (and Dad is raising them on a farm)!
