How late do you let your kiddos stay up during summer break?

Tomorrow is my son's last day, so I told him tomorrow night he could stay up as late as he wants. Obviously that won't be an every day thing, but I wanted to get some feedback from you ladies as to when bedtimes are during summer break.

  • How old is your son?

I sometimes let my five-year-old stay up till nine if she doesn't have anywhere to be the next day. It makes her feel quite grown up. My teenage stepson can stay up till eleven, but he often goes to bed between ten and ten-thirty on his own. Occasionally he has to be shooed off to bed.

  • I will let them stay up until 8 during the summer, if they're behaving.

  • Usual bedtime is 8pm. During Summer break it's around 9-9:30. She's 7, going on 8 years old.

  • My son is 6, so "as late as he wants" will probably be around 9 or 10 since his bedtime is 8 on school nights.

  • My kids are 8 and 11, and their current bedtime is 9 pm on school nights. They'll be allowed to stay up til 10-11 most nights, but not all, same time they go to bed now on weekends.

  • 10, and he's 10. This with the knowledge that I can shoo him off to bed at 10, but he's still going to be up reading until midnight.

  • our 9, and 10 yr old sons bedtime Mon-Thurs is 10pm. On the weekends its 11pm. We have baseball 2-3 times a week, so our 10 yr old has to be in bed or he's dragging the next day...

  • DS would stay up till 1 or 2 am if I let him, he is 7. During the summer I let him stay up till 10pm instead of going to bed at 8:30.
