Have you ever immediately thought "Oh my! Why oh why did I say that" about something you told your child?

I was trying to give my daughter a toddlers view of the digestive system. We eat food, it goes into our tummy, our tummy takes all the yummy "food" stuff out of what we eat and uses it to make our bodies bigger and stronger, and all the yucky stuff that isn't food comes out as poop.
Well, I explained this with an apple. And then she brought me a couple plastic beads and said "I not eat beads. They not food". I told her she was right. They aren't food. Then I foolishly told her that since they weren't food, they would come out in her poop.
Who here expects me to find little beads in her poop soon? ME!

  • Oh yeah. That was a "whoops!" moment. lol I know I had a few with my stepbabies. They're 6 and 4 now, and I swear I've had those moments where you're like, "oh no, wait...I didn't mean THAT. What I meant was..."

But they know! oh yes! They know! lol
