Can you file for child support if you are not married but still in a relationship and living with the child's father?

  • Yes, you absolutely can and should!!

    If you are not married then he can leave at any time. It is in his, your child's and your best interest to set up child support now and then you can drop it if you guys get married. But while you are not yes, you can absolutely set it up.

  • yes. i was always told if u arent married, living together or not to file child support. hell i am separated but still legally married and filed child support!

  • Ok, for starters...if he is not helping out then why live with him? Second...No I do not believe you can collect child support if you are living with the childs father. When my son's dad came home we had to cancel the child support but in the event that he moves out then the child support will automatically be reinstated!
