I can't believe nobody has posted this story...surprise another "college shooting"...well it started at the home first.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — A gunman with an assault-style rifle killed at least six people in Santa Monica on Friday before police shot him to death in a gunfight in the Santa Monica College library, authorities said.

Santa Monica Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks told reporters the rampage began at a house in the coastal city before the gunman, dressed all in black, made his way to Santa Monica College.

Seabrooks said he killed two people in the house, which caught fire, two more people as he moved several blocks toward the campus, and then two more on campus.

There is more at the link...

Again with the heavily armed crazy nut job bent on killing innocent people going right for the "gun free zone. Anyway...he apparently killed his family members first. Set house on fire. Then went on rampage that ended up at college. Cops engaged him at least two different times before putting him down. History of mental illness...sound familiar? When all facts come out...sheepdogs stepped up and stepped in!

So, somehow this nut job was missed by California's Armed Prohibited Persons list and/or he bought it illegally. Assault weapons are illegal for all in California except in very specific instances. California needs to figure out where the lapse was and fix it. And let be a warning that even when strict over the top gun control laws, such as Cali, bad guys always manage to get one anyway.

My condolences to the innocents.

  • Another untreated person withserious mental health problems goes over the edge and takes innocent people with him. The story is getting way too fucking familiar. Very sad. My heart goes out to the people who have to live with this directly.

  • And the college was just a mile from the site of the fire, with several shooting locations along the way.

  • History of mental illness you say? Shooting a gun that is not legal to own in CA? I guess they need to make more laws to make sure this doesn't happen again.

    Lather, rinse, repeat.

  • So sad for those who fell victim to this maniac. Unfortunately, those who are Hell-bent on this kind of destruction, will find a way no matter what laws are on the books. All they listen to are the voices in their heads, not the voice of reason.
