1 Bump

My son lost his two front teeth during the fall of 2011 when he was five. He's not seven yet, but they still have not grown back in. Should I be worried?

  • Did he lose them on their own or due to trauma? In November my son fell on the stairs and smacked his two front teeth and the Dentist had to pull them. You could see in the X-Rays that his new adult teeth were up there, but she had said his teeth weren't ready to come out on their own yet, so he still has not grown his teeth back in, because they were not even ready to come out.

BUT! If his teeth fell out naturally and on their own then yes I would at least call a Dentist and ask them what they thought.

  • He should be seen by a Dentist. He needs to have his teeth cleaned too.

  • A dentist would have taken an exray and set your mind at ease. He should see a dentist.

  • What does your dentist say?

  • The only permanent tooth I had that took so long to come in was when I knocked my first tooth out by hitting a parked car on a tricycle I was riding too fast. If your son lost the two front teeth naturally, I'd take him to a dentist for an X-ray just to be sure the permanent ones are on their way.

  • Did they get knocked out? If so, than the grown teeth just aren't ready yet. If they got loose and fell out as usually, I would ask the dentist.

  • My sister's 2 front teeth got knocked out when she was 4. Her adult teeth didn't come in until she should have actually lost the teeth when she she was almost 7.
