  • i like borax
because it's ground rocks it really scours them in the wash without the funky smell of bleach
it's also great at removing the smell of urine- better than bleach and vinegar

  • We have given up on it. I have three boys and am just done with the whole thing. I only buy black or dark blue socks now.

  • It's called bleach.
Soaking them in a hot bath of water, white vinegar and oxyclean also helps for those deep down stains.

  • I'm still trying to figure out, where that other sock goes..... lol.... I always end up w/ at least 2 socks w/ no matches, even though I could've sworn they were both in there when I put them in the washer.....

  • I have gotten black ink pen out of a white uniform using the vinegar water oxyclean solution. It had to soak 24 hours but there was no evidence of pen afterwards.

  • In my experience, bleach doesn't that great of a job. I do use a mixture of borax, powdered diswasher soap, borax, bleach, and hot water soaking for at least a few hours if not overnight. Maybe I am too picky about my whites. Has anyone ever tried peroxide?
