my ex husband needs to get medicaid. will it effect him getting medicaid if he pays child support

  • No, what matters for medicaid is the income he makes. If he makes to much then he won't qualify. In some states they will adjust his income for after he pays child support, meaning his income would be the end result after subtracting CS and not what he makes prior to that, but that depends on the state.

    He is he saying that he can't pay child support because it will affect Medicaid??

  • It's based on income but he may get a "credit" for paying child support.
