Sometimes I wonder why I even bother....

to make a nice dinner. I spent TWO hours making meatballs and spaghetti sauce from younger two didn't eat any of it. My husband and older son were going to the movies, so they just ate a small amount. Can anyone tell me why I spent so much time making such a delicious dinner...for no one to eat?

When was the last time you slaved over the stove and your family didn't appreciate it?

  • Yesterday.
I had pulled pork in the crock pot all day, Arkansas Green Beans, and Mac and Cheese.
Hubby came home and said "I thought we were having hot dogs" looking all disappointed.

  • Oh, it happens to me regularly. My boyfriend will eat whatever I fix, but my daughter usually says "yuck" before she even sits down, and my stepson pouts and sighs and asks if he can make a pot pie.

Freeze the leftovers. Spagheti sauce freezes nicey.

  • My youngest is a very picky eater. There are many times that I will spend a lot of time making a nice dinner and he will just say "yuck" and then make himself some pizza pockets.

I've gotten to the point where I ask them what they want me to make.

I agree with Ballad, freeze the leftovers.

  • It is disheartening. I don't know how many times I've asked myself why I even bother to cook.

  • Happens to me all the time too. Drives me crazy.

  • My DH knows better. I do not cook often, now days. When I do he better eat it.
Maybe it wasn't the food. Maybe it was the timing. The wrong day to do it.
