My son will not drink anything else but pedialyte, he drinks his formula, but when he wants something in between ,he refuses any kind of juice. I have tried them all. Is it bad if hes drinking 5-6 ounces of pedialyte a day.

  • You will really have to ask your pediatrician to be sure, but I would say yes it is. My 1 y old drinks either breast milk or water, nothing like pedialite

  • How old? If under 1, he really shouldn't be having the pedialyte at all. It's OK for him to skip juice. It's just sugar water. Pedialyte isn't any better.

  • He doesn't need juice. If he's still on formula there's no reason for him to be drinking anything else.

  • How old is he? A baby shouldn't have juice. Just formula for the first year. After that, milk or water. No need for juice.

  • If he is on formula he does not need juice.

  • What do you mean "in between?" If he is acting hungry don't stave off his hunger with fillers like juice or pedialyte. They are just sugar water. Give him an offering of formula or feed him a little more at each feeding.

  • Talk to your Pedi but like others said his formula is all he needs till his Pedi says it is time to introduce his first foods.Juice really doesn't do anything for him for him We only used Pedialyte when instructed due to having a bad virus that kept nothing down. The pedialyte was to keep them from becoming dehydrated when sick

  • Juice isn't necessary for anyone, including babies.

  • Mine didn't like juice as a baby; still doesn't. By a year old, a baby should be eating a variety of soft foods.

  • He will drink what you give him. Be in charge.
