How do i keep my bread fresh and soft?

I got a recipe for outback bread recipe from pinterest and made it. came out great. very soft and delicious. I want to take a loaf at a friend's place tomorrow afternoon. This was actually my first attempt at making whole wheat bread so don't know much about storing it. Most of it will be gone by dinner, but I want to keep that loaf soft which I want to take to my friend's house tomorrow. Should I just keep it in ziplock bag? plastic food wrap? cloth towel? and where should I store it? in a box or out on the kitchen counter would be fine? thanks

  • Because it will mold quickly (no nasty preservatives) I agree with pp. If you plan to give it away tomorrow, you could skip the fridge or take it out a little while before you leave.

  • Personally I would wrap it in plastic food wrap or put it in a zip lock bag and put it in the fridge.
