Im 32 weeks pregnant

Im 32 weeks pregnant, and i swear im at least two weeks further along then what they docs say i am. I say this because I never really new when my last period was.

And my last ultrasound at 20 weeks stated that my due date was already a week further along then the due date they gave me which was august 17th. and the ultrasound said the 11th.

How accurate are ultrasound due dates?

and how do i convince my doctor to give me another ultrasound to check the growth of the baby and to see if i further along?

  • ultrasounds are just a guess. The doctor telling you when your due date is, just a guess as well. Baby will come when they are ready. You shouldn't request an ultrasound just to prove to your doctor they might be wrong especially since the ultrasound is again, just a guess.

  • Does it really matter WHAT the date is as long as your baby is healthy?

Sounds like you just want the dates to match up to the right guy.

  • Due dates can be off by two weeks in either direction. Baby will come when baby is ready. You could easily go another 10 weeks. The ultrasound just confirms that baby is within the estimated time frame.

  • Early ultrasounds, the ones in the first trimester, are fairly accurate at determining fetal age. The later an ultrasound is done, the less accurate it is for the purpose of estimating the date of conception and thus the due date.
