Is it rude to have a baby shower if your youngest is 5?

I have a 7 year old boy and a 5 1/2 year old girl. I'm due in December, but I got rid of everything after a couple of years.

  • It is rude to throw your own baby shower. If someone else wants to, go ahead.

  • No it's not rude, it's practical.  Congrats on the new baby :)

  • Tell hubby to have a diaper party too- those are great!

  • This idea that only the first baby gets a shower was only recently invented by uptight sanctimommies in the past 10 years or so. It has ALWAYS been ok to have a shower for each baby, it's even included in Emily Post.

  • My "baby" had just turned 6 a month before our final baby was born. If I had any friends, I probably would have hosted my own shower, but since I don't have any around here.....

  • I don't think it's rude, if you throw it yourself. I guess it depends on who you want to invite.

  • I don't think it's rude. I think it's fun to celebrate all babies.
