can constipation cause low fever?

I am 60 years old with sharp knot in my abdomen. I feel that it is constipation, but I have a fever of 100.5 and I feel sort of dizzy.

  • If there's a fever, I don't think I'd assume constipation. Especially when you throw in dizziness, and a sharp knot - I think I'd be talking with my doctor. Maybe it is just constipation, but I'd still check with the doctor to be safe.

  • That sounds like more than constipation to me. It would be worth a call to your doctor.

  • No, I think you should go to the ER for an ultrasound. Fevers are caused by an infection of some kind. You may need an antibiotic and/or have another issue you are unaware of.
