How long does an opened package of hot dogs stay good in the fridge?

I don't think the three day rule applies to hot dogs. How long are they good for? Just regular package of hot dogs opened. Not heated up by me at all.

  • Oh, about 20 years. LOL! Really a very long time if kept cold. How old are they?

  • Once they are opened I would throw them out past 5 days or so, but you can freeze them

  • Opened, not more than 3 days if they were wrapped up good. Once that vacuum seal is gone it's game on for bacteria!

  • We go through them really fast here but I put them in a zip lock bag and I think they stay good for at least a couple weeks.

  • Damnit, mixed answers. I don't remember when I opened them. Maybe around 4-5 days ago.

  • I say 3 to 5 days roughly. If you put them in a zip lock bag or container.

  • If you opened them four or five ays ago, I'd say sniff them and if they smell okay, they're probably fine. Heat them up good and hot, or slice them up really thin and cook them in barbecue sauce or something so you know they got heated through.
