Questions about the new stuff that was changed today

So does this mean gay marriage in all states is allowed? Or just same-sex couples get same federal benefits as straight? Such as pension, health insurance, etc.

Also if a couple were to get married in one of those states that allowed gay marriage but moved to a state that didn't have it, does that state still need to recognize it?

I keep getting all different answers so now I'm confused.

  • No, ss marriage is allowed only in the states we have now, but it will be a matter of time until that changes too....since DOMA has been found unconstitutional. And yes if couples marry in the state where is recognized, if they go to another state that doesn't it will be recognized as valid.
