Do you bring gifts to a "Gender reveal party" ?

My sister-in-law is having a gender reveal party instead of a baby shower and I was wondering do you bring gifts and if so what are some ideas for a gift.

  • DD had one and no we did not. That doesn't mean others don't. Is this her first child? How much would you want to spend?

  • idk..but if you do, diapers are always a good gift, and gender neutral! :)

  • I have not heard of one. If invited to one, I would give a blanket made by one of my cousins.

  • I wouldn't. I would offer to bring drinks or something, though.

Gifts can wait til the baby is born.

  • I would bring diapers. You can never have enough of those.

  • buy her diapers one size up from infant, somehow you just need them one day at that exact moment, you might want to check if she plans to cloth diaper, yellow is a good color for towels, blankets etc.
I assume she didn't do a registry, so if you want to go in for a large gift, stroller, car seat, or large gift card to spend when they do the reveal would be nice as well.

  • never heard of one
    so i have no idea
got to bring something - right?
    maybe a bottle of wine

    diapers are nice
i usually get books when in doubt, will not grow out of quickly
and duplicates are rare when doing a baby party

  • I never go to a party without a gift of some sort. A Blanket is a good idea!

  • I've never been to a party like that, but I'd probablytake something practical like diapers and something sentimental like a baby book or a footprint making kit.
