  • It's probably his teeth waking him up. I went through the same thing recently with my Daughter. I would just bring her in my room, lay her with me in the bed, change her diaper & just let her fall asleep with me & DH. If she cried then I would give her a few ounces of milk then she will fall asleep quickly. He will grow out of it, just keep the lights off/dim when he wakes. Maybe 1/2 of a banana or Cheerios before bed. When they are full they sleep better. She rarely wakes now, I think it was her back teeth hurting when the broke through.

  • If he is happy in there leave him alone to settle back to sleep. They often can get back to sleep by themselves.

  • might be time to eliminate a nap and/or push bedtime back

  • I agree that if he takes more than one nap during the day it might be time to go to one nap so he sleeps better at night.

  • Also, if you need to get him up, make it a very businesslike affair. Change his diaper or give him a banana or milk, but don't play or talk unnecessarily, and then it's right back to bed. The worst thing you can do is turn on the TV or rock and sing, or do anything that makes waking up and getting your attention a reward at that age.
