  • You can substitute real mayonnaise (not Miracle Whip) for the eggs and oil in brownies, but mayo does have eggs in it. If it's for someone with an egg allergy, I'd heard you can substitute a can of plain pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) for the eggs, but I've never tried that.

  • Yes, you can use 2/3 cup of applesauce or 1/2 cup applesauce and 1 teaspoon of baking powder instead of 2 eggs. It makes cake-like brownies not the super chewy type, but most people prefer the cake-like kind anyway. Add a bit more applesauce if you want it even fluffier.
