  • that is an old wives tale that you don't get a period while breast feeding. some don't some do, it's just how your body reacts to the hormones released.

could be implantation bleeding... you can get pregnant while breastfeeding even if your periods haven't returned yet...

  • While breastfeeding does suppress hormones and usually stops your period it isn't foolproof. You can start your period at anytime especially if there have been any changes in your nursing schedule, like if your baby has recently started sleeping through the night. A few light spots, though unlikely, could be implantation bleeding or just spotting which isn't abnormal. I would definitely say that if you are spotting already to be sure you are using BC but other than that probably no concern.

  • I got my period while nursing both of my kids and I also got pregnant while nursing my first. Nursing delay the return of your period, but you can definatly still get it.

  • I had a mini period (what I call it now) at about 3 months out or so. I had no cramps, light bleeding and it only lasted 1/2 of the time of my normal period. I never got another period until DS self weaned, around 18 months. That is my experience and as you know every person is different when it comes to getting there period back. Here's hoping it's a 'mini' one!

  • I got mine 2 weeks after my PP bleeding stopped. (EBF for 11 months and counting)

Different women, different bodies...different body chemistries.

  • I got my period back when my youngest was 6 months old and I was breastfeeding still. A few times before then I would have very light spotting but my period never came.
