  • That sounds like alot of work if you don't HAVE to wash them that way
The machines aren't going to ruin them.
I'd skip the bleach and use Woolite or a Bleach and dye free detergent. Lay flat to dry

no- you may only ever use a front loading hi efficiency machine

  • The washing machine is better because it vibrates, making for a happier, stress-free mommy.

  • You will get them rinsed out better on a double wash rinse in the machine.

  • For this, I have heard Lye soap is the best. I know when I was in HS we made soap. Sounds crazy but in a small school you might find that you can get it for cheap or nothing. Bleach- I know you can get bleach cheap, I have a sensitive child.. i would use a small amount maybe 2tbs in a sink full soak for 20min and go up from there. i would rinse anything several times if you have a sensitive child.

  • Yes. It is not illegal to wash clothes by hand. I do recommend a mild detergent like woolite or dreft and water. You'll have to rinse well. I prefer a washing machine myself.

  • I don't think washing the clothes by hand will keep them nice or make them last longer, but it can be done. How do you think clothes got washed before we had machines?
