Has anyone every tried castor oil to help bring on labor?

I am just wondering about experience with castor oil. I know some recommend it while others don't.

  • Um, yeah. Some dumb chick tried it and told us about it on this site a week or so ago. All she brought on was a bad case of puke and shit disease.

  • I couldn't care less if you shit your brains out, but I would worry about your baby having a bowel movement in utero, which is a risk with drinking castor oil. This can lead to breathing problems in an otherwise healthy baby. It's just not worth it.
