School backpacks

I bought my kids a good one last year. They are still in good shape just dirty. It says they can't be machine washed. So how exactly can I clean them? What can I use that is good for stains?

  • I'd try a magic eraser first, and if that doesn't work try spot cleaning with dishsoap.

  • I totally wash mine. I just use cold/cold on the delicate cycle, and I don't put it in the dryer.

  • We washed our too.

But the Magic Eraser, like PGA suggested, is a good option too if you don't think washing is a good idea.

  • i had to wash my daughter's because she got lice and her hair is long enough that it brushes over her backpack. it was fine and came out clean

  • I would wash them either on delicate or hand wash them. I bought a bunch of them last year when they were really cheap on clearance and will give my kids the choice to either use a new one or their old one. If they choose their old one I will donate the new one's to one of those back pack charities.

  • I throw them in the washer anyway, but then line dry them.

  • take it outside and scrub/hose it down and then let it air dry if you don't want to use the washer.
