How do you feel about a restaurant adding the mandatory tip to your bill.?

Plus you still have the option to add another tip on top of that. It is getting to the point of not wanting to set foot in another restaurant. This starting in NY with olive garden, I forget the others. 18 percent is the number. It has been a while since I gone out , so many bad stories about eating out.

  • A lot of higher end restaurants already do that
I do not feel it is right but you know it before you frequent the place, so that is then your choice.

  • Just two people, I know that they could do it for large groups.

  • Well, I feel fine about it, unless the service is poor, then I would speak to a manager about it. People are chintzy sometimes even with good service, and if the service wasn't up to par, you should use your voice and complain.

  • Honestly, I hate it, except if there is a large party that takes a lot of work. Otherwise, it pisses me off to no end and I generally choose not to go to establishments where that is standard practice.

  • In Italy it was included. A lot of places wouldn't take extra tips.
