Is there a difference in taste or texture between organic chicken and non organic?

I found an awesome deal on whole organic chicken. I'm roasting one tonight and mentioned it to my neighbor. She swears there is a huge difference in taste and texture. She claims she can tell if it's organic and can't stand them.

  • There definitely is. I wouldn't have believed it, but I buy organic meat when I can afford it now that I've tried it, especially chicken, because it has a firmer texture that I like a lot better.

  • Maybe it's my imagination, but I think organic tastes better.

  • I've only had organic beef and it was definitely tastier.

  • Organic chicken definitely tastes better (most of the "standard" non-organic chickens are battery hens ...). Another difference is that the meat sticks to the bones, it doesn't just fall off like it does on non-organic.

  • Seems to be tastier & juicier then normal chicken.
