How long would you

how long would you wait still looking for an employment place. say you had M.S, but really not any work history with it. i am considering continuing my education so i could get some job. a year long certificate maybe. it would put a strain on my schedule (i've got 2 boys 2.5 and 4.5) and am so hasitating. where would you look for a job. it takes me forever to get an interview... desperate

  • Do you have an MS or were you just using that for reference? Depending on your area of specialization you could, perhaps, find work teaching at a CC with it.

    Education is never, ever a bad idea in my humble opinion. But year long certification courses aren't an immediate solution. You need work history of some type.

  • What is your degree in? Are you looking at entry level jobs in that field, just to get a foot in the door? Even if you have to take something that doesn't pay a whole lot to start, work experience will help. It's a lot easier to get a better job if you have a job in the first place. Education is always good, but it might be easier for you to pursue that later when your boys are in school, and no matter how much education you have, finding relevant work will still be a challenge till you get experience.
