1 Bump

does this sound like true labor?

I am 38.5 weeks. And last evening I took some castor oil. It didn't make me sick like everyone said it would, I just got more contractions. Around 3am I started feeling a tight burning cramping in my lower belly just above my pubic bone that radiates around to my lower back. At 4:45am I lost my mucas plug. The pains aren't regular, and sometimes hurt more than others. My question is this: is this real labor signs? When should I call my doctor? I don't want to waist anyones time with a false alarm.

  • Why do you ladies rush labor??? I just don't get it!

By drinking Castor Oil, you're putting your babies health at risk!
Call the Dr and tell him what you've done and see what he says.
    We're not OB/GYN' s!

  • Wow. I figured you'd all be more helpful and kind. Guess I was wrong. And yes, my phones predictive text spelled waste wrong. Wow. Let's be sarcastic about it. Waist of time.

  • Wow I honestly can't believe any woman would put their baby at risk just because they felt uncomfortable. Feel so bad for the baby.

  • . I figured you'd all be more helpful and kind.
    Call your doctor.
    We are not doctors.
    Why are you rushing?
    You've endangered your baby.

How exactly are these comments unkind?
    They are statements of fact.

And the question- what is unkind about that?
No one name called or commented on your intelligence.

And perhaps, since intestinal disorder is a side effect of castor oil ingestion, you just need to eliminate your bowels.
But again, we are not licensed medical professionals. We have no way of knowing whether or not you are dilated or effaced.

  • Call your doctor.

  • Please call your dr and tell them what you did (taking castor oil). It can cause your baby to have a bm in utero and then inhale that during delivery, risking his/her life. The drs need to know what they are dealing with so they can take precautions to try and override your stupidity and lack of care for your baby.

  • Call a OB or Midwife. And why are you taking castor oil it wouldn't be worth the risk IMO.

  • That was a VERY wrong thing to take Castor Oil. You should call a REAL Dr. NOW & tell them what you have done. The baby could be injured.
