What would you want your friends kids to call you?

Mrs. Whatever your last name is?
Or by your name?

The other day my dd10 friend was here visiting and out of no where she had a question for me and called me Mrs. Smith! and went on with her question. I felt honored but at the same time I felt like a teacher...lol but I guess she can call me by my name I don't care, but what sounds more appropriate?

Thx!

  • Julie. That's my name. Everyone in the taekwondo school were required to call adults by Mr. or Mrs. and it always felt weird to me.

  • Ms. 'First name'. Or by my last name but that is harder to pronounce.

  • I want called by either my first name or if they have a funny or cute nickname for me that they made up or shorten my first name like a lot of my friends do. I don't want to be called Ms. "first or last name". Your Majesty would work though. ;)

  • I also don't mind when the kids call me "Kyle's mom" or "Jacob's mom", but that happens less as the kids get older. I sort of miss when I would chaperone field trips and hear "You're so cool, Jacob's mom!"

  • They usually end up calling me by my first name, or Ms. followed by my first name. My last name is different from my daughter's, so I'd rather keep it out of the mix and not draw attention to it or confuse anybody.

  • Usually by my first name. I prefer my first name, because anything else I'm likely to not even hear since it's not what I'm expecting to hear. lol
