Speaking of names spelled differently...

I was a substitute teacher a few years ago and I came across the name Deysi. I honestly didn't know how to pronounce it. The student was very upset that I mispronounced the name. Anyone want to talk any guesses on how this name is said?

  • Daisy....lol It's probably best to just ask how they pronounce it and say you've never seen that name before...."oh very unique" lol It would make them feel good without getting it wrong lol

  • I understand that parents don't want their child to be one of 5 with the same name in their class, but come one people!
These "ewneque" names make me feel as if I have subjected my two boys to a life of boredom and sameness with Andrew and Lucas. Should have spelled them..... I honestly don't even know how to make those names "ewneque" Anndroo and Lookas?

  • I would have said Dee-si if I had to.... but I probably would have said the last name and just asked her how to pronounce it.
