Five year old son hair is to waist. Should boys be forced to cut their hair?

Do you think parents should force hair cuts on their sons?

My five year old hair is very long. I hate hearing family say form both my side and his father said why don't you cut his hair. when I reply he doesn't want it cut and how we keep it groomed it isn't a safety hazard. They then reply with your the parent suppose he want to ( insert any random dangerous or horrible thing) would you let him, we assure them our child not wanting a hair cut can't be compared to such and such.

  • I think if YOU are ok with washing brushing taking care of it etc then that is ok, I have no problems with boys having long hair. One of our good friends son has very long hair (it's part of his South Pacific Heritage). I would not let my son have his hair long because I don't want to be the one taking care of it. He asked once if he could grow his hair out and I told him when you can take care of it yourself you can grow it longer, until then it's getting cut.

  • Yep I think so. I won't let my boys have long hair, I hate how it looks on males.
