Is it odd that it bugs me that Duchess Kate is still referred to as Just Kate or Kate Middleton?

I see post on the British Monarch Facebook page wishing 'Kate and Wills' their best and it bugs me. lol. It should be Their Royal Highness' or the The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge or something more respectful. Even the media does it! You never heard Princess Diana referred to as just Diana...

  • I guess it doesn't bother me. If they had said Kate and Prince William then I would be like huh, that's rude.

  • The Kate Middleton thing bugs me, since clearly she changed her name.

  • I never noticed before, but you're right. It does seem a bit disrespectful.

  • She is Royalty. She is Her Royal Highness Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge. In her presence you would be expected to call her as such.
